Greene & Greene Drop-in Talk: The Gamble House Chiffonier
Informal talks will take place at 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 1:30 p.m. in the Greene & Greene Gallery at the Huntington.
Join docents from the Gamble House in Pasadena as they explore the history, materials, design, and use of a chiffonier.
How does the chiffonier designed by architects Charles Sumner Greene and Henry Mather Greene resemble a chest of drawers or Japanese tansu chest? Discover how the architects’ knowledge of woodworking and joinery are reflected in the design itself, and what elements are both ornamental and functional.
