Robert R. Blacker estate, Pasadena, 1907-09 – This massive estate includes a house, outbuildings, and extensive landscaping, which includes a man-made pond with its own island. At the height of its construction, twenty-eight laborers are employed full time.
David B. Gamble house, Pasadena, 1907-09 – A National Historic Landmark, it is the only Greene and Greene house that retains all of its original furnishings and is available for public tours.
This contemporary photo shows the Gamble house living room, for which the Greenes designed and produced furniture, light fixtures, rugs, andirons, fireplace tools, metal hardware, and built-in features.
Margaret B. S. Clapham Spinks house, Pasadena, 1907-09 – Discussions begin in 1907, but work does not commence until 1909. Henry takes this commission on by himself while Charles is away. He sets the house back deep in the lot, giving the owners dramatic canyon views to the rear.
