Join us for an exterior ArtNight experience on Friday, October 8th as Music for Your Inbox celebrates The Gamble House with the exterior video projection “The Gamble House; Inside Out” featuring music by Johanna Beyer, Charles Ives, and Pamela Z. Through the music’s sound and the Gamble House’s space, we can reflect on two deeply formative and contested American ideals: innovation and home.
Also come explore the work of painter and ceramicist, Nick McPhail. Nick works with oil paints to layer color, light, and empty space in a way that captures new perspectives of the Los Angeles vista. His piece for this pairing uses the Gamble House as a starting point to explore the sensation of peering through one space into another. Together, the video and the visual art examine the Gamble House’s history, craftsmanship, perspectives, and symbolism; celebrating it inside and out.
