Experience ‘Life in the Past Lane’ When Six Local Museums Showcase Arroyo Culture With Free Admission, Shuttles and Family Fun
This year marks the 35th anniversary of Museums of the Arroyo Day – a community event that annually brings together thousands of Angelenos from across Southern California to experience the rich history, iconic architecture and arts-driven neighborhoods of the Arroyo Seco area.
Activities at the Gamble House:
• Visit the Gamble House for free self-guided touring with volunteer docents on hand to answer questions.
• View historic photographs displayed in the house that show the construction of the house and the Gamble family’s life in Pasadena.
• The Gamble House Bookstore will be offering 35-cent postcards in celebration of MOTA Day’s 35th anniversary.
• Explore the Hummingbird Cantina located in the garden behind the Gamble House Bookstore, where you can spy hummingbirds visiting feeders installed by Pasadena Audubon.
• Enjoy games for all ages setup around the house on the Gamble House lawn.
• Bring a picnic and relax on the Gamble House lawn.
Free shuttles connect the museums: The Gamble House, Heritage Square, Los Angeles Police Museum, Lummis Home, the Pasadena Museum of History and the South Pasadena Historical Museum.
With so much to do and see – and only a few hours to do it – visitors are encouraged to plan their visits and to pace themselves accordingly. (See www.MuseumsOfTheArroyo.com for parking locations, shuttles routes and up-to-date information about events at each museum.)
