The Greenes complete MIT’s architecture course and apprentice at several prominent Boston-area firms. This picture shows a detail of the William E. Cox house, called Roughwood, now Pine Manor College in Brookline, Massachusetts. The project was active during Charles Greene’s four and a half months with the firm Andrews, Jaques, and Rantoul. Its rustic qualities resonate with Greene and Greene’s mature work.
