THE ART OF GREENE AND GREENE

~By Ann Scheid~

One can follow multiple themes and influences throughout the Greene and Greene Archives, tracing relationships that connect disparate sources and give clues as to how the Greenes developed their architecture.

Made up of correspondence, photographs, drawings, books and other documents and records coming from the Greenes themselves, their descendants and the clients and their descendants, the collection has come together through the goodwill and generosity of over 400 donors.

The following are a few of the images, drawn from books owned by the Greenes and the Gambles, family papers, drawings, and from photographs of some of the buildings designed by Greene and Greene, give a sense of the richness of the collection for researchers, as well as some of the themes that can be illustrated from images in the archives. ♦
