Designed by the Greenes as a speculative house for
one of their contractors, A. C. Brandt, it was quickly
rented to Iwan Serrurier despite the fact that Serrurier
had had the Greenes design a larger house for him
that had been completed just three months earlier.
The more modest Brandt/Serrurier bungalow still stands,
in nearly original condition, on its corner lot in
Altadena.
