Mortimer Fleishhacker, Sr. Townhouse

This speculative project came into the firm shortly after Charles'
departure from the firm to relocate his family to Carmel (also known as Carmel-by-the-Sea.) It was the last project assigned to this client by the firm, all subsequent work being produced by Charles in Carmel. The drawings show a relatively simple compact elevation with two stories over a garage and a stoop set at a right angle to the front door. There was not much room for the firm's typical decorative flourishes usually provided by Charles. The detailing of the doors and the windows are the only evidence of the firm's aesthetic vocabulary.
