Thomas Gould, Jr. House
Ventura, California
1920-25
Henry Greene had first sketched a large wooden house for the
Goulds in 1920, but cost concerns kept them from building it.
A more modest version of the initial design was finally constructed
in 1924-25. Some of Henry Greene’s finest detailing as
an independent architect can be found in this charming hillside
house, including leaded glass windows and beautifully carved,
built-in drawers.
